Carrie Underwood is an American country singer who became a recognized performer after winning American Idol’s fourth season in 2005. She released her single, “Inside Your Heaven” which shot up the charts and made her the only country artist to debut at top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart as well as the only country artist to have a #1 song on the Hot 100 during the 2000s.

She then released a debut album in 2005 that became the best-selling solo female debut album in country music history. This album was supported by the singles, “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and “Before He Cheats”. She then went on to win three Grammy Awards for the album, including Best New Artist.

But Carrie Underwood wasn’t done yet.

She followed up this success with the release of her next album that had one of the biggest opening weeks of all time. And it went on to win two Grammy Awards as well as becoming one of her hottest albums ever.

Underwood has sold over 70 million records worldwide. She is also the 7th highest-certified female artist and the highest-certified female country artist of all time according to the RIAA. She has earned multiple accolades and awards including eight Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 17 American Music Awards, five Guinness World Records and inductions into the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry. 

On top of that, Billboard named her the top female country artist of the 2000s and 2010s while Rolling Stone named her as “the female vocalist of her generation in any genre”,

What this means is that Carrie Underwood is a legendary performer who hasn’t stopped making waves since she first hit the music scene.
